Steel City Sound
Loud, honest rock from a river town. Four guys, two guitars and a drummer who refuses to play quietly.
Sat, Nov 7 · The Foundry Taproom, Portsmouth · 9 PMThe band
Built in a garage on Offnere Street
Steel City Sound started in 2019 as a cover band that kept sneaking originals into the setlist. Somewhere around the third bar fight we didn't start, people began asking for the originals by name.
The sound is what you get from growing up between the floodwall and the old shoe factories: big, crunchy guitars, a rhythm section that hits like a freight train, and lyrics about the people who stayed. We play every show like it's the last one the Foundry will ever book.

-
Jake Morrison
Vocals, rhythm guitar
Writes most of the words. Grew up on Pearl Jam and his dad's Springsteen tapes.
-
Marcus "Steel" Rodriguez
Lead guitar
The riff guy. Owns more pedals than shirts and will tell you about every one.
-
Danny Walsh
Bass
Fifteen years of low end. The garage was his, so technically this is his band.
-
Chris "Crash" Thompson
Drums
Has broken four kick pedals and one stage riser. Earned the nickname honestly.
